What kind of Church is VCC?
The Vine is a Bible believing church which believes that Jesus Christ is Lord. We have a strong focus on worship and faith based teaching. There is a strong emphasis on being a Christian family and we believe God wants us to be a church where people love each other, and love those outside the church.
What can I expect if I come on a Sunday?
A normal Sunday service at the Vine consists of a time of praise and worship where we glorify God and enjoy being in His presence. Our worship uses contemporary and traditional worship songs, many of which have been written by members of our worship team. There may also be prophesies and prophetic songs. Our praise and worship is expressive and you will see people raising their hands and expressing their love for Jesus in an exhuberant way.
There will also be preaching based on the Bible which will be faith-filled and relevant to what God is saying to the church. During this time children and youth will go to their own groups. On the first Sunday of each month younger children spend the whole morning in Kids Club.
After the service people stay for coffee and cake. This is a great time to catch up with friends or make some new ones. We have a special table for visitors where you have complimentary refreshments and cake and can meet members of the church.
If you prefer to visit our our sister church in Maesteg, this is a similar type of service to the Vine, Bridgend and starts at 6pm.
Is your building accessible to disabled visitors?
We have level access on our ground floor with a disabled W.C and a hearing loop system. The first floor is used on Sunday for the youth and younger children’s groups and this is currently inaccessible to anyone in a wheelchair or with difficulty walking. However every assistance would be provided for a disabled child or parent who needed to go upstairs.
Does VCC belong to any denomination or grouping of Churches?
No. We are an independent church and a member of the Evangelical Alliance.
Who are the leaders of VCC accountable to?
Accountability has several dimensions here at VCC.
Trustees provide accountability before the charity Commission.
Financially we have an independent audit.
