Youth
Breakthrough Youth is part of the Vine Christian Centre and is aimed at young people aged between 11-18 years, typically secondary school age. Throughout the year we host a number of events for our young people but our main meetings are outlined below. Our vision is to see the youth of this church and nation empowered and equipped to become world changers and history makers, fulfilling their potential as youth for Christ!
Friday Night Breakthrough 7:00-9:00pm
During the year, we meet every other Friday night from 7.00 to 9.00pm. We run youth throughout the holidays and hold special events so check the Breakthrough leaflets for more info. For the majority of the evenings, the programme is theme based, using a variety of both biblical and contemporary topics. Examples of these and thematic content include Heroes of Faith, Prayer-Talking to God and The Purpose Driven Life. It is also magazine based in terms of structure using a variety of ‘chunked’ activities involving testimonies, role models’ stories, games, music, worship, bible study, teaching, multi-media and break out times giving the youth more of a voice. And our young people often contribute to games/quizzes, shared testimonies and prayers.
Sunday Morning Breakthrough Youth
During the 10:30 Sunday Morning Meetings we hold sessions that teach and explore relevant issues for our youth from a biblical perspective. Similar to Friday nights our team support study with a variety of fun and creative activities.
Service Sunday
This initiative was started in January 2022. Members of Breakthrough Youth are able to sign up to a variety of ministry areas, where they serve on the last Sunday of each month. This is known as ‘Service Sunday.’ Ministry areas include: Kingdom Kids Sparklers Teas and Coffees Ushering Welcome Team Worship Team-Sound Worship Team-Words
The idea is to give the opportunity for our young people to serve in a variety of ways, discover what they are good at, have a better idea about the church as a whole and build relationships with church members they might not normally encounter.
Other Events
During the year there may be opportunity to go to events with other youth groups and churches. This could include Limitless Festival in the Summer, Limitless One (a regional event with other churches in Wales) or Message events in Cardiff. In addition trips are held locally as well.
