22 May Role Models
Hey everyone welcome to this weeks Youth Blog!
I think it’s really important to have role models so here’s a question for you: WHAT is a ROLE MODEL?
Actually it’s even more important to know the answer to this question: WHO are your ROLE MODELS?
Sometimes we’re not even aware of who are Role Models are, who is influencing us, shaping our ideas and belief systems. This could be anything from the clothes we wear, to the music we listen to or even what we believe when it comes to our faith.
The Bible has a lot to say about the importance of role models.
In fact it’s full of people who were both good and bad role models. Their lives are outlined so that we can learn from their mistakes and victories.
Of course JESUS is the ultimate role model.
In Thessalonians 1:-7 Paul writes to the church and says
‘You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.’
He’s highlighting how the church imitated Jesus and because of that became effective role models to other believers at the time.
That means you could be role models in Bridgend!
In the meantime, here’s some great role models for you to look at in a little more detail.

You know God thinks you’re amazing and you have so much potential.
And not only does he want us to choose our role models wisely, he wants you to become strong positive role models to others.
