MEET OUR TEAM

Pastors Alex & Jane Ashton live in Bridgend and have led the church since 2002. They met while working as “home based missionaries” in Scotland and have three daughters.

Their passion is to see the church walking by faith and are committed to building a House of Love here at the Vine so that the community will see the love God has for them.

They both embrace the adventure of faith and all that God has called them to do. They have a heart for the nation of Wales and are believing for God to breakthrough and move abundantly in this land.

David retired in 2022 and felt a strong sense that God had called him and his wife into the area. David has pastored two churches in Surrey and Essex and prior to this, ran his own business. David is passionate about seeing The Church restored, prepared and equipped to enable us to see God’s purposes fulfilled in South Wales.

Tim was born and raised in Bridgend and has grown up attending The Vine. Outside of church life, Tim works for a large social housing provider and is married with two young children.

Tim has a real passion for worship and a heart to encourage people to step in to all that God has in store for them.

Claire has been on staff at the Vine for 2 years but has worked with young people and children for over 3 decades, both as a volunteer and in a professional capacity.

She has a heart for worship, discipleship & creativity and loves journeying alongside this generation as they develop their gifts and discover who they are in Christ, firmly believing that they are not just the future— they are an essential part of the Church today. Claire is also a keen runner, musician, appreciates the arts and loves adventure!

Hayley attended The Vine as a young child with her family before moving to Scotland in 1996. Hayley ended up back in Wales years later and got saved at The Vine in 2014. Hayley has a background in sales, banking, housing and homelessness and has been working for the church since 2024. Hayley is married to our elder, Tim Grist and they have two young children. Hayley has a heart to worship and to see people encounter Jesus for themselves!
