The church started in the home of Wynne and Anne Goss in 1983, when a small group of Christians started to meet together in their front room for fellowship and support. Wynne was encouraged by the Holy Spirit to set up a church based on the following verse; “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, it is he that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15v5
The church began meeting in a community centre before moving to Aberkenfig where it grew. During the time at Aberkenfig the emphasis was on ‘Faith and Worship’ and this continues today. Many of the ministries that the church has today were started during the Aberkenfig days.
Soon, the church needed to find new premises and it moved to its current location at Hayes Terrace, Bridgend. Wynne and Anne Goss led the church together until Anne’s sad death in 2001. The following year Wynne felt it was time to focus on his international ministry and leadership of the church passed to Alex and Jane Ashton.
The church is now a well established congregation within Bridgend. We are seeking to build a house of love where people are not only overwhelmed by the love of God but where that love finds a tangible expression to one another. Worship and Faith in God’s word is at the core of the Church’s teaching.
