Hidden in Christ Jesus

Hidden in Christ Jesus

I wanted to share with you an encouraging word that I recently received and trust you will be encouraged

-Pastor Alex.

“I was reminded of the story of the Philistines capturing the ark of God (1 Samuel 4) and what happened when they brought it into the house of their idol Dagon (1 Samuel 5:1-4).

It made me smile again at Dagon fallen on its face before the ark of God. When the Philistines returned the next morning this time the idol was not only fallen before the ark of God but its head and both palms of hands were broken off ‘on the threshold’, only its torso left.

So it seemed good to me to bring encouragement to our church of what it means for us to live in the presence of Almighty God at all times.

How wonderful that we do not carry God around in a box any more, even covered with gold. All the powerful truth of the holy scriptures that both remind us and declare that we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. That our lives are hid in Christ. That God is our source – Jesus the Vine and we the branches.  For our God will never leave us nor forsake us – He is with us always. We are made in love and love never fails and never ceases.

Whatever noise the enemy makes and whatever victories he ‘appears to have won’, he is defeated foe and Jesus came to destroy his works and so the devil has no power over us unless we give it to him.

Therefore it is good to remember that our God not only fights for us, but has given us everything we will ever need to resist the devil and know his strategies and not only avoid them but to bring others out of the darkness and the lies into the Kingdom of Heaven and God’s marvellous light and truth.

Remember you are loved and appreciated.”

Thank you Marilyn…..i was only reading the very same scriptures yesterday and I too cannot help but smile as Dagon falls face down before the Ark of God….it always reminds me that EVERY knee will bow and declare Christ is Lord. Even the false idol’s have to fall before the Lord because He is indeed mightier than anything of this world of man.
Praise the Lord for his word, the anchor of our souls ….bless you Marilyn and thank you pastor Alex for sharing x😁
