Walking in a double Portion

Walking in a double Portion

The word of God I am standing on for this present season is that instead of shame the church shall possess a double portion. There is a shift happening and it is found in this verse from Shame – To Double portion

The double portion speaks of the inheritance of the “First Born”. The first born always got double his siblings. The Lord wants us to possess a double portion.

With this in mind I want to challenge you to stretch your faith towards seeing the promises of God manifest in the year ahead. For many of us exercise is a thing we used to do and as a consequence our bodies are out of shape. When you stretch and exercise certain benefits are obtained.

• Reduced muscle tension

• Increased range of movement in the joints

• Enhanced muscular coordination

• Increased circulation of the blood to various parts of the body

• Increased energy levels (resulting from increased circulation)

• One of the greatest benefits of stretching is that you’re able to increase your range of motion, which means your limbs and joints can move further before an injury occurs.

Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonour they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy. Isaiah 61 v 7

In a similar manner many of us have stopped exercising our faith and instead of reaching towards the promises of God’s word we are simply not exercising faith and instead being passive in our faith. The year ahead is a year where God wants us to stand on his word until we see it manifest in our lives and in the life of the Church.

If I am going to walk in the double of portion I need to stretch my faith again and I can start doing this by confessing and singing God’s word over my world.

Singing and confessing involve stretching your faith. When you are faced with an impossible situation and instead of simply saying how hard the situation is and describing how bad the circumstances are, instead you start to speak the word and praise the Lord you stretch your faith.

When you take a song like – Our God is able –
Start to sing it over your own circumstances.
God is able to make a way, He will never fail us and In His name we overcome.
God is with us, God is on our side He will make a way
Far above all we know Far above all we hope He has done great things

Stretching your faith involves actively trusting God rather than passively following him.
What is God saying to you – stretch yourself toward it.

I want us to stretch our faith to start to see a double portion in our land and to walking in joy unspeakable full of glory.

Let’s all stretch together and see God do great things in 2013

Alex
