28 Aug Mission Impossible
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 v 19- 20. When Jesus uttered what has become known as the “Great Commission” he was truly giving them an impossible mission
that would only be fulfilled by the power of the Holy Spirit working through humble servants.
It is amazing to think what has happened through the lives of these eleven men and how the Gospel has gone to the ends of the world since that day.
We are the inheritors of this commission and we too are called to part of God’s mission impossible team.
The Oxford dictionary definition of the word mission is;
• An important assignment given to a person or group of people, typically involving travel abroad.
• An organization or institution involved in a long-term assignment
• An operation carried out by the military aircraft
• An expedition into space
• The vocation or calling of a religious organization, especially a Christian one, to go out into the world and spread its faith
• A strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling
We are the inheritors of this commission and we too are called to part of God’s mission impossible team.
Oxford dictionary definition of the word impossible
• Not able to occur
• Not able to exist
• Not able to be done
The Vine Christian Centre is on a mission and that mission would be impossible if it wasn’t for God’s help. Welcome to the “Mission Impossible Team” and your mission if you choose to accept is –
• To do what can‘t be done
• To see what can’t occur
• To build what does not exist
I am looking forward to changing our nation with you as we see with our own eyes our God work far more abundantly than all that we ask or think according to the power working within us.
Every Blessing
Alex
